Who we are

What this site collects

There is no account on this website. The eligibility questions on /book are used only to control whether the enquiry form can open. Their answers stay in the page while you use it, are reset when the page starts or is restored, and are not put in browser storage, analytics or the website backup. Pregnancy stops the web enquiry. If you say you take blood-thinning medication, the page offers a separate WhatsApp discussion draft; it opens only if you choose it and you still press Send yourself.

If you are eligible and submit the form, the site opens a prefilled WhatsApp draft and makes a best-effort attempt to save a Cloudflare-hosted backup. The backup can contain your name, email, tattoo idea, placement, size, budget, availability, reference link, a timestamp and country where available. It does not contain your screening answers, optional notes, age confirmation or the honeypot check. Optional notes are included only in your WhatsApp draft. Please discuss medical information directly with Emmy in WhatsApp rather than entering it in the form.

We use enquiry details to respond to and manage your tattoo enquiry. The backup is not a delivery service: it may not be stored, and opening the draft does not send a WhatsApp message. A stored backup expires after 90 days. Copies created before notes were excluded may contain formerly submitted notes until their original 90-day expiry or an individual deletion request. WhatsApp and Instagram messages are handled under those providers' own policies once you choose to contact us there.

We rely on taking steps at your request before a booking and on our legitimate interest in answering and managing enquiries. WhatsApp or Instagram conversations may be kept for as long as needed to manage an enquiry, appointment and any related legal or accounting obligation; the 90-day website-backup limit does not delete copies held in those services.

Mailing list

The home page has an optional signup for occasional emails about Emmy's books opening and new flash. The form collects only your email address, and nothing is stored on this website: it goes straight to Kit, the email service that holds the list and sends the emails for us under its privacy policy. Kit first sends a confirmation email, and you join the list only when you confirm. Kit also records when you signed up and confirmed, and whether our emails are opened and their links clicked.

We rely on your consent, given by signing up and confirming. You can leave at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by contacting Emmy through the routes above. Your address is used only for these emails and is never sold or shared with anyone else.

Cookies and analytics

The booking page does not load Google Analytics. On other pages, Google Analytics 4 is off until you choose “Accept analytics”. Rejecting does not affect the site. If you accept, Google may receive your IP address, visited page, browser and device information and use analytics cookies to measure site use. We rely on your consent for this optional measurement. The website disables Google Signals and advertising personalisation in its tag configuration and does not send screening answers or enquiry fields to Google Analytics.

Use “Cookie settings” in the footer of any non-booking page to change your choice. Rejecting after acceptance disables the tag, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies from this site and reloads the page to unload it. Withdrawal stops future collection; it cannot undo information already received by Google. Google handles the service under its privacy policy. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser.

Other things stored in your browser

We remember your analytics choice in local storage under emmy-analytics-choice-v1 for up to 180 days, separately for each website origin. This preference contains only your choice and its expiry time; it is not sent to us. If storage is unavailable, the choice applies only to the current page. Clearing browser storage resets the choice and analytics stays off until you accept again. Google Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days without extending their expiry on each visit.

The home page uses session storage — normally limited to the current browser tab — for emmy-scroll:/ (restoring your place) and emmy-intro (remembering that the introduction has been considered). These values are not sent to us. The retired alternate booking page no longer saves drafts; visiting /book removes its old emmy-book2-progress entry from that browser origin. Other old copies can be removed through your browser's site-data controls.

Third-party content and sharing

• Google Analytics is loaded on pages other than /book as described above.
• On the home page, a Google Maps iframe and Instagram profile iframe load automatically when they are near the viewport; the map also loads without JavaScript.
• On the home page, public Google review data is requested through an Emmy-controlled Cloudflare Worker; Google-hosted reviewer profile photos may load with it.
• Choosing a WhatsApp link or opening an Instagram, Facebook or Google Maps link sends you to that provider. Signing up to the mailing list sends your email address to Kit.

Those providers can receive your IP address and request information when their service or link loads. The site's display fonts are served from this website, not Google Fonts.

Hosting and security

The site is served on Cloudflare. The enquiry backup endpoint only accepts the production site origins, or an explicitly configured protected origin. Cloudflare may process request information needed to deliver and protect the service.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy, and you may object to processing. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. These rights cover the website enquiry backup and the mailing list as well as your WhatsApp or Instagram conversations with us. Use the WhatsApp or Instagram contact routes above to make a request; we may need to verify your identity.

Using this site

You may browse and share links freely. Unless stated otherwise, the photographs, text and site design are owned by or licensed to Emmy Tattoo. You may not copy, reproduce or use them to advertise another person or business without written permission. Images of tattoo work do not grant permission to reproduce the tattoo design.

Tattoo photographs

Images are of real, completed work and are shared with the clients' permission. They are examples, not a promise that a given design can be reproduced identically on different skin.

No medical advice

The aftercare guidance on this site is general information from a tattoo artist, not medical advice. If a tattoo shows signs of infection, or you have a medical condition that affects healing, speak to a pharmacist or your GP.

Enquiries and bookings

Submitting the website form or sending its WhatsApp draft is an enquiry, not acceptance of a booking. An appointment is confirmed only when Emmy agrees it with you, including any price, deposit or studio terms. Tattoo appointments are for people aged 18 or over.

Availability and accuracy

Prices, availability and opening hours change; nothing on this site is a binding offer. Emmy Tattoo tries to keep this site accurate but does not guarantee the site is always available or error-free.
